Miranda Beverly-Whittemore

Miranda Beverly-Whittemore was born in Los Angeles in 1976. She attended Vassar College, where she received the Fiction Prize and after graduating worked at the 92nd Street Y’s Unterberg Poetry Center in New York City. Her first novel, The Effects of Light, 2005, was called an “ambitious first novel” by the New York Times and has been widely translated. Her second novel, Set Me Free, 2007, Publisher’s Weekly called, “an intriguing read”. Miranda writes and lives in Brooklyn with her husband.
